FALL STYLED SHOOTING – Dia de los muertos inspired

Autumn is the time of year when nature lights up with iridescent colors capable of warming up even the grayest days, it is a romantic and poetic moment, but at the same time melancholy, gothic, dark…

When my friend and floral artist Nancy from Flowers & Flowers Factory asked me to create images for an autumn-themed Styled Shooting, inspired by the “dia de los muertos”, I was immediately thrilled.

The Dia de Los Muertos (in Italian “day of the dead”) is a particularly heartfelt celebration in Mexico relating to the remembrance of the dead. It takes place in the first days of November, in conjunction with the Catholic celebration of the dead.

The shots were taken in a grove on the outskirts of Modena, the model wore a vintage dress , loose hair embellished with a splendid floral crown and a strong make-up, to recall the typical skulls of the Mexican holiday.

The gloomy autumnal mood of the uncultivated forest was softened by the warm tones of seasonal flowers. In particular, Nancy has created a series of floral compositions using the hermes orange carnation in the shade of the country spirit home rose, the red of the grasparossa vine and the Ivanetti dahlia in shades of burgundy; Avignon chrysanthemums and beautiful caramel and apple tea carnations for the softest tones.

A styled shooting designed to inspire those couples who have chosen October and November to celebrate their wedding!
