We all have a dream in our hearts.
We have enriched it day after day with small details, shades, smiles, looks lowered by emotion, fingers that intertwine, hands that caress each other.
All of us have retraced that special day over and over again, moment after moment, the dress that draws our body, the scent of a flower in our hair, the lights that frame a dance.
We all want those moments to be perfect, that their uniqueness will not be betrayed, that they can be just like this, as we have expertly drawn them every time we are lost in ourselves, eyes half closed, smiling intimately.
Perhaps, to ensure that my dream is not disregarded, I am inclined to think that the right moment is fundamental, that it is worth postponing, waiting for a future with more certainties.
Then I think that life is just like that after all, that beauty is also in a lock of hair that impertinently slides over my face, an asymmetry, the dog that runs up to me dirtying my dress, but with an imprint of love .
I think that a light that suddenly jumps allows me to see the moon better, that an imperfect handwriting makes my heart beat, I think that our being together will be made up every day, of small unfulfilled dreams.
We won’t always smile as we hoped, reality sometimes makes us believe that it’s better not to run far with wishes, so as not to suddenly find ourselves flying into the void.
But in the end what does it matter, I wonder.
We will always be the ones to draw the portrait of our love, sometimes smudging the line, but filling every gesture with love.
The important thing is that all this happens every day, holding hands.
So yes, I’ve decided. I’m getting married, despite everything.
